My wife and I run a small business doing skills videos for athletes of all skill levels and in multiple sports. The videos are only part of our business because we also contact college coaches with information about the kids and include the links to the videos. We then take action from the college coaches and the parents to ensure communication between the two is done properly. We were using an older desktop program and our bounce rates and related spam counters were pretty high. Open rates were at about 1% too. We changed over to Sendy our our first 4 mailings all had open rates of over 20% because of the deliverability of emails being sent from the Amazon Email Service. Very few bounces and even more engagement. My first 4 mailings costs me a total of .52
3 years ago I started a website with no monetization plan. I started receiving 1000s of visitors a day and rushed to put ads on the site hoping I could at least make enough money to keep the website up. After some time I felt capturing emails would be a great idea since I could actually help the customers visiting our site with finding products and services to benefit them. Mailchimp and Constant Contact were far too expensive for our small website (with little revenue) and I found Sendy while researching alternatives. We used both Mailchimp and Constant Contact for far too long before we made the switch. Our infrastructure already runs in AWS so using Sendy was a no brainer. Best decision I have ever made and last month we sent over 20,000 emails for a grand total of .18, that's quite a saving.
We used the Buy Sendy support to setup and configure our instance but once it was done, it was set it and forget it. Some of the recent updates to Sendy have allowed us to use consistent templates across the campaigns and made our job so much easier. The learning curve is pretty high for someone who is not familiar with servers, php, domains, etc. I would give this a five star review if it was as easy to set up as Wordpress but since I required assistance I have to give it a 4.
